Controls & first steps

Move and interact

Move with WASD or the arrow keys. On a controller, use the left stick. Hold Ctrl while moving to run; the controller run action is left stick press. Use Shift or controller B to dash.

Approach an object or character and follow its interaction prompt. The default interaction control is E or controller Y. Fishing spots and crafting stations require you to approach and face them before starting.

Open the menus

Press Tab or controller Start to open the character menu. Press Esc or controller Back for the pause menu. From there, How To Play shows the game's keyboard and controller reference.

In menus, use the arrow keys or WASD, or the controller D-pad. Confirm with Enter, Space, or controller A. Cancel with Esc, Backspace, or controller B.

Your first combat controls

Use left mouse or controller A for the primary attack. With a melee weapon, tap and release for a light attack or hold and release to charge a heavier attack. With a Reed Bow, primary attack fires a quick shot; hold and release right mouse, R, or the right trigger for a charged shot.

Cast the selected spell with T, middle mouse, or controller X. Cycle spells with Y or controller D-pad Up.

These are the current default bindings. The Obsidian Sun is in development, and controls may change.
